So grateful to the AIS judges for including this piece in the online show! I washed off a failed painting on LaCarte pastel paper which meant that I was left with a glossy sheet of paper. I covered it with a loose coating of Art Spectrum Colorfix Primer in Raw Sienna and was thrilled with the surface…ya just never know🤞🏻

Hard to resist a 2 hour Plein air painting session in the middle of the East Branch of the Ausable River where the sunshine lit up the spectacular foliage and had the water sparkling!
So happy and grateful this one was scooped up hot off the easel by the the owners that live here but others can be found @dartbrookrustic right around the corner from this bend in the river❣️

Turns out one of the best places to plein air pain

Turns out one of the best places to plein air paint AND have an excellent view of the eclipse was the middle of Ausable River in Keene NY, in the Adirondacks!! If you swipe you will see how dark it became during the total but it did not capture the actual eclipse.
I am so grateful to my good friend Tamsin @tamsin66 for such a wonderful experience and her invitation to share this special place❣️
